County expands burn ban effective June 10

The Wasco County Board of Commissioners passed an order June 5 that instituted a ban on all burning, which includes piles and burn barrels, for areas outside the boundary of an officially recognized fire protection district.

The ban becomes effective June 10 at midnight and remains in effect until it it determined by local officials that enough rain has fallen — in either September or October — to lift the restrictions.
