Gorge Artists open studio tour April 12-14

The seventh annual Gorge Artists Open Studios Tour featuring 29 regional artists, takes place this year on April 12, 13 and 14.

Maps are free this year for the first time and are available at Frame Central locations in Portland, Waucoma Books in Hood River and Klindt’s Booksellers in The Dalles.

April is a special time in the Columbia River Gorge and the Hood River Valley. The fruit orchards are in bloom and wildflowers emerge in the National Scenic Area. Local winemakers offer their specialties in tasting rooms and gorge artists open their studios to the public during this annual springtime event.

It will give visitors a chance to come and meet the artists, see where they create and get insight into their processes.

For more information about the tour and participating artists, visit the Open Studios Facebook page at www.facebook.

com/gaos.tour. The preview show continues through the end of March at Columbia Center for the Arts, 215 Cascade Avenue, Hood River.
