Foundation seeks philanthropy nominees

The Mid-Columbia Health Foundation is seeking nominations for the 2014 Tradition of Compassion Philanthropy Awards.

Award recipients will be selected in four categories: Outstanding Volunteer, Outstanding Community Service Organization, Outstanding Philanthropist and Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation.

Nominations will be accepted through Jan. 31 and can be made by downloading a form from and selecting Tradition of Compassion on the menu. Nomination forms can also be obtained by contacting the Health Foundation at 541-296-7275.

Nominators are asked to think broadly as they consider possible nominations; philanthropy comes in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.

Health Foundation project coordinator, Anne Copper encourages the public to submit nominations for organizations, businesses and individuals who focus on giving back to our community.

Award recipients in each category will receive a donation in their name to any local nonprofit. “Every year as I read through the nominations, I am in awe of the many great things happening in The Dalles,” Copper said. “The people here truly are amazing.”

Winners will be announced at a ticketed event March 6. Tickets can be purchased for $15 each by contacting the Health Foundation at 541-296-7275 or by email at Or purchase tickets online at
