The South Wasco County volleyball team served at a season-high 87 percent and the Lady Redsides won their third consecutive non-tournament match Tuesday in three games over Sherman to kick of Big Sky Conference action in Moro.

All three games in this pivotal league contest were played close to the vest, as two points separated the Huskies and Redsides.

SWC inched ahead late in the first game with the final two points to score a 27-25 win.

The second game was a nip and tuck battle once again, but the Redsides managed to sneak away with a 25-23 victory to go ahead 2-0 in the match.

SWC picked up the road sweep in the third game, rolling to a 25-19 tally.

“I think we started a little slow and needed to get into the game more,” said sophomore hitter Jada Myers. “We need to start playing the way we know we can.”

Leading from the service line was the trio of Jacqueline Noland, Myers and Allie Noland, who went a combined 38 for 42.

At the net, Myers had five kills on 11 of 17 swings.

Allie Noland tallied four kills, Jacqueline Noland tacked on two kills on 11 for 11 and Kyrsten Sprouse was good for 19 for 23 to go with four kills.

“We got off to a slow start, pushed through and gained confidence throughout the match,” said all-league junior setter Allie Noland. “Our passing was good, but we need keep working for the next game. A road win is good though.”

South Wasco County (3-1 overall, 1-0 league) next hosts Ione at 5 p.m. Thursday.

After that, the Redsides host Horizon Christian at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
