Easter celebrations planned

Karen Stewart of The Dalles holds a pair of Easter eggs decorated in the Ukrainian style by her aunt, Pauline Lencz. The yolk and white of the raw eggs have been removed, and melted wax used with a type of stylus is applied to create the design, which is worked from light colors to dark. When the decoration is complete, the wax is melted off. A variety of Easter activities are planned this weekend.
