Accidents

Oregon State Police

March 29, 2:35 p.m. – Two vehicle, non-injury crash, Interstate 84 eastbound, milepost 108. One driver was cited for following too closely and a report was taken.

Fire

Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue

March 29, 5:32 p.m. – Crew responded to the 400 block of East 12th Street on a report of a barbeque fire. Contact was made with the homeowner who advised she started the barbeque and some foil with grease on it started quickly and flew out of the unit landing next to the propane tank fueling the barbeque. The fire was out prior to arrival and there was no damage to the tank.

March 29, 9:02 p.m. – Crew responded to the 1200 block of West 6th Street on a report of a fire alarm. While heading to the business the crew was advised this was a false alarm and returned to quarters.

The agency also responded to nine calls for emergency medical services on Thursday.

Police Reports

The Dalles City

A hit and run report was taken Thursday morning from the 1200 block of West 6th Street.

A runaway report was taken Thursday morning from the 600 block of West 12th Street.

A stolen vehicle report was taken Thursday morning from the 1900 block of Dry Hollow Road.

Joshua Aaron Aljaouni, 29, The Dalles, was arrested Thursday morning in the 1100 block of Dry Hollow Road and is accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

Police responded to the 1200 block of West 6th Street Thursday evening after staff reported a male subject was on the grounds who had previously been trespassed. Suspect was located and cited and released for second-degree criminal trespass.

Jon Delonne Strickland, 30, The Dalles, was arrested early Friday morning in the 1000 block of East 9th Street on a warrant for post-prison violations.

Wasco County

A theft report was taken Thursday afternoon from the 3900 block of Chenowith Road after a victim reported some firearms were stolen from the grange.

Mindi Kim Simonton, 35, Maupin, was arrested Thursday evening in Maupin and on six warrants for parole violation. She is also accused of unlawful possession of heroin, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, and felon in possession of a weapon.

Oregon State Police

A hit and run report was taken early Thursday morning from West 6th and Webber streets.

Trooper responded to Shaniko Thursday evening on a residence check for a sex offender. Contact was made with the suspect’s grandmother who stated he had not lived there for several years. An informational report was taken.

Randy Anderson Piper, 47, The Dalles, was arrested Thursday evening in the 500 block of Mt. Hood Street and is accused of second-degree criminal trespass, carrying a concealed weapon, and felon in possession of a weapon.

Sherman County

Jacob Austin Cole, 19, Verdi, Nevada, was arrested Thursday evening in Moro and is accused of second-degree disorderly conduct.

Todd Alan Darby, 23, no listed address, was arrested Thursday evening in Moro and is accused of second-degree disorderly conduct.

Gilliam County

Mark David Borghese, 52, Arlington, was arrested Thursday afternoon in Arlington and is accused of violation of a release agreement.

Parole & Probation

Brian Scott Simmons, 44, The Dalles, was arrested Thursday morning in the 1100 block of Dry Hollow Road and is accused of probation violation.

Steven Joseph Sprague, 46, The Dalles, was arrested Thursday afternoon near West 2nd and Webber streets and is accused of two counts of probation violation.

Samuel Guadalupe Mora Silva, 19, The Dalles, was arrested Thursday afternoon in the 1400 block of East 12th Street and is accused of two counts of probation violation.
