The National Geographic Quest docks Monday, Oct. 2, for what the daily expedition report describes as “50-knot gusts and a wind-bound afternoon in The Dalles.” On Tuesday, “we had to make up for lost time, traveling 270 river miles and transiting through four locks to our destination of Clarkston, Wash.,” expedition leader Jeff Phillippe reported.
