Helping Hands hosts ‘Key to Escape’

Local nonprofit Helping Hands Against Violence is planning a “dinner adventure fundraiser” featuring a locally sourced organic dinner and an escape room-like experience designed by local escape room experts Escape the Hood.

The event is set for Oct. 20, 6 p.m., at Wildwood Academy, 13 Railroad Street, Hood River.

Participants in an escape room typically solve puzzles or riddles while exploring a specially created environment designed to evoke a fictional world.

Helping Hands said their event, titled “The Key to Escape,” offers an opportunity to provide real-life necessities for women and children who need the nonprofit’s services.

Gift purchases could be the reason a survivor of domestic violence or sexual assault is able to secure employment.
