Accidents

The Dalles City

Oct. 5, 9:50 p.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury crash, West 10th and Irvine streets. Vehicle struck a power pole in the area. A report was taken.

Oregon State Police

Oct. 4, 1:07 p.m. – Single vehicle, injury crash, Highway 216 westbound, milepost 7. Motorcycle driver was traveling west when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer, causing the bike to crash. He was Lifeflighted to a hospital in Portland. A report was taken.

Oct. 5, 8:07 p.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury crash, Interstate 84 eastbound, milepost 74. Driver hydroplaned on the roadway due to standing water striking the center divider. The crash was logged.

Oct. 5, 8:39 p.m. – Single vehicle, injury crash, Interstate 84 westbound, milepost 71. Driver lost control of vehicle due to standing water. Both the driver and passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries during the crash. A report was taken.

Oct. 5, 10:15 p.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury crash, Interstate 84 westbound, milepost 75. Driver lost control of vehicle due to standing water. The crash was logged.

Fire

Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue

Oct. 5, 3:24 p.m. – Crew responded to the 6500 block of Reservoir Road on a report of a grass fire. Upon arrival, a property owner was using a garden hose to extinguish his yard. The fire seemed to have spread from burn pile. The area was mopped up.

Oct. 6, 6:46 p.m. – Crew responded to the 2900 block of East 9th Street on a report of a smoke alarm. Contact was made with a resident who stated their carbon monoxide monitor was continually beeping. The monitor was determined to be at the end of its life period and the owner was advised to replace the monitor. No problem was found.

Oct. 7, 1:49 p.m. – Crew responded to the 2600 block of West 6th Street on a report of a propane leak. Contact was made with an employee who was filling up a propane tank. The tank had a screw pop off while filling up and when the employee attempted to place it back the unit was still leaking. The area was shut down and no combustible gas was found in the air. Propane company was heading to the area to check on the unit.

The agency also responded to three calls for emergency medical services on Oct. 4, four on Oct. 5, ten on Oct. 6, and five on Oct. 7.

Police Reports

The Dalles City

Animal control responded to the 600 block of East 9th Street Oct. 4 after a caller reported her dog got a hold of a hot dog that contained needles and nails in it. A report was taken.

A theft report was taken Oct. 4 from the 400 block of West 15th Street after a victim reported her cat was stolen.

Animal control responded to the 500 block of Mt. Hood Street Oct. 4 on a report of a dog at large. The dog was located and lodged at the local shelter. A report was taken.

Okiem A. Doneley, 29, The Dalles, was arrested Oct. 4 in the 1000 block of Walnut Street and is accused of unlawful possession of heroin and tampering with physical evidence.

A theft report was taken Oct. 4 from the 500 block of Mt. Hood Street after a victim reported her money order was stolen.

Delbert Leo Ohms, 32, The Dalles, was arrested Oct. 4 in the 3800 block of West 6th Street and is accused of violation of a restraining order, parole violation, and probation violation. He was also arrested on an out of state warrant.

Edgar Contreras Garcia, 31, The Dalles, was arrested Oct. 4 in the 2700 block of West 7th Street and is accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. He was also arrested on an out of state warrant.

Henry Russell Benson, 47, no listed address, was arrested Oct. 5 in the 1200 block of West 6th Street and is accused of third-degree theft.

Jonathan McKinley Hegge, 36, no listed address, was arrested Oct. 5 in the 700 block of Pleasant Court and is accused of second-degree theft.

Jon Delonne Strickland, 30, The Dalles, was arrested Oct. 6 near West 6th and Walnut streets and is accused of probation violation and post-prison violation.

Police responded to West 9th and Myrtle streets Oct. 6 on a report of a female yelling in the area. An informational report was taken.

Police made contact with a male subject Oct. 6 on the Interstate 84, exit 82 overpass after he was observed defecating in public. He was cited and released for second-degree disorderly conduct.

Police responded to the 800 block of Pomona Street Oct. 6 on a report of a dog at large. The animal was located and taken to the local shelter. A report was taken.

A theft report was taken Oct. 7 from the 2500 block of West 6th Street after a victim reported his boat was broken into.

A missing person’s report was taken Oct. 7 from the 1300 block of East 14th Street.

A hit and run report was taken Oct. 7 from the 300 block of West 3rd Street.

William Edward Hardy Jr., 30, The Dalles, was arrested Oct. 7 in the 2500 block of West 6th Street and is accused of first-degree theft.

An assault report was taken Oct. 8 from the hospital after staff reported a victim came in with injuries she said had been inflicted by a boyfriend during an altercation.

A theft report was taken Oct. 8 from East 11th and Thompson streets after a cab driver reported dropping someone off at an apartment complex. The rider stated he was going to get money and never returned to pay. The incident is under investigation.

Wasco County

Deputy responded to West 9th and Garrison streets Oct. 4 after a caller reported observing a suspect enter an unlocked vehicle. Suspect was gone prior to deputy arrival and a report was taken.

Deputy responded to the 2800 block of Skyline Road Oct. 4 after a caller reported several horses that appeared to be neglected. on some property in the area A report was taken.

A theft report was taken Oct. 5 from the 4100 block of Chenowith Road after a victim reported her wallet was stolen out of her vehicle.

Todd Jeffrey Palmer, 52, Terrebone, was arrested Oct. 5 during a traffic stop on Highway 197 near milepost 17 and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Nevin Ryan McCart, 31, The Dalles, was arrested Oct. 6 during a traffic stop near East 3rd and Jefferson streets and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Oregon State Police

Felipe Neri Young, 36, no listed address, was arrested Oct. 4 in Rufus on a Columbia County warrant for contempt of court.

Jonathan McKinley Hegge, 36, The Dalles, was arrested Oct. 5 in Rowena on a municipal court warrant from Sweet Home for third-degree theft.

Bryce Cody Peterson, 32, Riverdale, Utah, was arrested Oct. 6 during a traffic stop in Mosier and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Sherman County

Samantha Jane Montgomery, 47, Arlington, was arrested Oct. 4 in Wasco and is accused of first-degree forgery and first-degree theft.

Aja Carolyn Maldonado, 27, Warm Springs, was arrested Oct. 5 during a traffic stop on Highway 97, milepost 12 and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Regional Jail

Melissa Kaye McMurrey, 43, The Dalles, was jailed Oct. 4 on a court commitment for fourth-degree assault, first-degree criminal mistreatment, and harassment.

William Keith Brace, 46, The Dalles, was transported by Klickitat County and jailed Oct. 4 after being arrested on a local warrant for probation violation.

Cynthia Rene Call, 34, The Dalles, was jailed Oct. 5 on a court commitment for contempt of court and a local warrant for second-degree failure to appear.

Miguel Angel Rodriguez Sanchez, 18, The Dalles, was booked and released Oct. 6 on a court commitment for attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving, failure to perform the duties of a driver, and two counts of recklessly endangering another person.

James Brian Greene, 43, Moscow, Idaho, was jailed Oct. 6 on a Sherman County court commitment for driving while suspended.

Parole & Probation

Emily Rose Toy, 26, The Dalles, was arrested Oct. 4 in the 1300 block of East 14th Street and is accused of probation violation.

Jennifer Michelle Gladish, 31, The Dalles, was arrested Oct. 4 in the community corrections office and is accused of probation violation.

Brian Scott Austin, 41, The Dalles, was arrested Oct. 5 in the community corrections office and is accused of two counts of post-prison violations.
